Learn how we created an office that embodies OV Group’s sweet company culture, featuring agile work spaces, a vibrant open-plan kitchen and signature pink focus pods, marking a shift towards collaboration and innovation.
The Brief
OV Group are a leading supplier of confectionery ingredients and decorations. In 2023, they planned to shift their working culture to better reflect their fun, energetic company. Led by the CEO and HR Lead, the team envisioned an office fit out that featured pops of their bright brand colours, adding vibrancy to their current tired and outdated work environment.
The primary goal was to design and build a space that fuels creativity and collaboration. It was a challenging but exciting project for our interior designers, who were tasked with not only addressing the physical aspects of the workplace, but also utilising it as a key tool to transform the work patterns and behaviours of the OV Group employees.
The Solution
Throughout our office designs, we shifted the focus away from traditional working spaces to team collaboration. Whilst we did still retain some of the office’s existing focus work areas, the refreshed design introduced a large variety of informal and agile workspaces to the layout plan. Beyond the office, the designs also included a fully open-plan kitchen that serves as a communal hub for employees to connect, share ideas and build relationships.
The Perfect Breakout Space
To support different work styles and preferences, we installed focus pods and acoustic phone pods. These breakout booths were customised in the vibrant OV Group pink, adding a fun pop of colour to the office. Teams meeting? Important phone call? These pods are the perfect break away spot to for tasks that don’t require a desk.
Alongside this, informal, open-plan meeting areas were also implemented into the office layout. These spaces were designed to inspire spontaneous interactions and idea-sharing between team members.
Navigating the Office
We manipulated the office lighting, using pools of light to create distinct work zones within the office, as well as provide adequate illumination. Natural elements such as planters were installed too to softly divide spaces. Our interior designers also created directional office flooring to guide movement and further zone work areas, helping to improve wayfinding throughout the building.
Shifting Work Cultures
The office design wasn’t just about the physical transformation; it focused on impacting a culture change. We worked closely with OV Group to ensure we delivered an office fit out that accurately represented their desired cultural shift and embodied their values going forward.
By prioritising collaboration, agile working and employee wellbeing, we delivered an office refit that supported their culture evolution. Taking the project from concept to completion, the team now enjoys a modernised and dynamic workplace.
