Due to rapid team growth, Cheltenham’s leading conveyancing solicitors, Montpellier Legal, were looking to relocate. Moving from a co-working space to a dedicated office comes with its challenges, so the team requested the help of our design and build specialists. In just 8 weeks, we designed and built Cheltenham’s latest flagship office.
The Brief
Montpellier Legal are a rapidly expanding specialist conveyancing firm based in central Cheltenham. Due to the success of their business and the expansion of their team, they needed a new space that was bigger, better and bolder.
As a client-facing business, the new office had to meet the needs of their team, as well as enhance their client interactions. Our initial design consultation and discussions focused on achieving this perfect a blend of functionality and aesthetics, all while retaining a corporate interior scheme.
The Solution
Collaborating closely with the Montpellier Legal team, regular communication was maintained throughout the office fit out. This ensured we fully understood the vision for the final workspace and were able to deliver it in one succinct package.
We designed the the office space with an even balance of effective focus spaces, meeting rooms and social zones. Extensive design consultations were presented to the team throughout the project, with full client involvement throughout. The team were also invited to join our fit out specialists on a collaborative day visiting our London partner’s showrooms to browse and select office furniture and products for their space that aligned with their vision for their future office.
Champagne on Tap
In the design of the Cheltenham office, we zoned different work areas to separate spacious desking and collaborative areas, as well as social and eating spaces for employees. The office design even included an on-site champagne bar!
Bigger, Better, Bolder
Ask any visitor to the Montpellier Legal office and they’ll mention one thing. One of the most impressive interior features was absolutely the central structure, inspired by tranquil Japanese gardens and complemented by modern details. This design feature includes bamboo wall panels and plush velvet seating that surrounds that all-important champagne bar.
This touchpoint in the workplace is pivotal to client interaction, promoting a sense of wellbeing through biophilic elements such as the large tree and natural materials.
Shaped by Nature
We also explored the role of rocks within interior design, playing with organic forms and raw shapes that have been hand-carved by nature. Taking inspiration from the peace and tranquillity we find by rivers, mountains and caves, we captured this feeling and brought it to the office environment.
The completed office fit out was celebrated across Cheltenham, marked by the successful launch event hosted by the Montpellier Legal team. With every employee now comfortably accommodated, the new office better supports their continued growth as a successful business.
